Hello there and welcome. My name in Mary Andrews and here you will find my frequent musings on life as a jewelry designer, marketing specialist for Etsy Inc, the flashes of inspiration I come across in the vast creative world, and maybe a few surprises every now and then. In my free time, I look forward to indulging in flea markets, farmer’s markets, and antiquing. I also love to try out new recipes, learn new craft skills, read design blogs, make jewelry, and am an admitted Netflix addict. Learn more below.

I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts and the most rewarding aspect of my profession includes highlighting the works and stories of emerging Etsy sellers throughout the site. It’s inspiring and motivating to be immersed in a world where so many creative minds are constantly exhibiting new work.
Jewelry Designer, Contrary Jewelry:
Apart from but related to my work for Etsy Inc, I operate my own jewelry business, Contrary. My artistic style can best be described as a combination of the evocative, romantic, and nostalgic. With a background in metals and textiles, my creative process typically integrates an assemblage of metal with found vintage objects. I'm continually fascinated with the idea of re-purposing everyday objects into a piece of jewelry which is both clever and inspiring. I'm forever collecting new finds to incorporate into my jewelry aesthetic and find motivation in making pieces which tell a story beyond their face value.

You can find my curational work displayed throughout Etsy Finds emails, Etsy's blog articles, Etsy's homepage, and Etsy media mentions.
