Pocket Knife Key Necklace

It's a key knife! Just a quick note to say the keys have arrived, and have won my heart as far as the pocket knife collection is sizing up. Find them newly stocked in the shop.

On a similar note, I've been struggling to keep the mermaid knife necklace versions in stock thanks to the high demand. I was able to make a different version of this saucy siren in full profile, alas she is the only one I have my hands on at the moment. Click the photos below for details and purchasing info (10/24 update: just scooped up, thanks!). I'll keep the search on for more mermaids in the meantime.

Cheers!

Something We Like Interview

A few weeks back, Peter from the blog Something We Like, contacted me for an interview to include in their inspirational section. The interview was just published this week and I'd love for you to head over and take a peek:

I'm so used to being the one asking the questions behind the scenes at Etsy with columns such as Quit Your Day Job that it was a bit of a challenge reversing roles and answering the questions on the other side of the screen. Alas, I am very pleased with the end result and hope you enjoy.

Judging Etsy's Handmade Moment Video Contest

A while back I was asked to be one of the judges in the Handmade Moment video contest hosted by Etsy. There were many incredible submissions and it was inspiring discussing each of the videos with this roster of talented judges.

View some of what went down during the final judging night:

In Good Company

I dwell with two talented musicians, both of which have recently released new projects I'd like to share with you.

The talented singer/songwriter (and my BFF), Emily Easterly just released a new single "The Only Two On Earth/Montreal." Download and enjoy these two free tunes by clicking the image below:

My other talented roomie, J Seger, just completed a video collaboration project outlining his musical point of view and recent move to Brooklyn. This video is a collection of photos, videos, artwork, and mixing by many in his creative circle of friends. I was honored to shoot parts of the video, which you'll notice in the indoor stop motion photography streams:

Creativity breeds creativity...enjoy.

Antique Nuts and Bolts Cabinet

While in Virginia last weekend I came across this nuts and bolts cabinet from the turn of the century. It's in an octagonal shape, has never-ending drawers finished with porcelain knobs, and rotates on it's base. It's like nothing I've ever seen and as you can probably guess, I was awe-struck. It was typically used to house nuts and bolts in hardware stores or candies and small toys in general stores back in the day.

This piece of furniture would be a dream come true as a component in my ideal studio space. Alas, we did not leave with this gem on that day. It's been on my mind ever since and I hope to find a similar one to make mine somewhere down the road.
