Listening To: Adele, Someone Like You

While working from home I've had Adele's 21 on repeat as of late - specifically Someone Like You. Loving the above version where she's recorded singing the tune live in her home with some brief commentary on the meaning behind the words. By the way, who else is loving the fact she names each of her albums after the age she was when writing them?

"I hate to turn up out of the bue uninvited, but I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it. I'd hoped you see my face and that you'd be reminded that for me — it isn't over yet." - Adele

VA/MD Music Video

I'm excited to share a new project my good friends and former Brooklyn roomies, Emily Easterly and J Seger, just released - their debut VA/MD music video for the song Big Bad City. The video was produced, shot, and edited by Matt Hobby who also collaborated on this video profiling J. I'm always impressed and inspired by the musical collaborations these two pull off so effortlessly.

If you want to hear more, check out the full VA/MD Ep via iTunes.

Behind the Scenes of The Sartorialist

I caught wind of this captivating look behind the scenes of The Sartorialist first over on Refinery29. Scott Schuman, the face behind this street fashion blog, explains how with the internet, "really the whole world is open to you now."

Being an avid fan of people watching, this little window made me yearn for those voyeuristic morning walks to work in DUMBO and reminded me of how lucky (I, too) am for being able to do what it is I love via this vehicle they call the internet...

Etsy is Hiring Video

Etsy is hiring, did you hear?

We put together this hiring video as a way to get the word out and convey a little bit about our company culture. Hope you enjoy as much as I have and will help spread the word to those who might be interested in a new position.

Formal Friday

formal friday from jen gotch on Vimeo.

Possibly the most hilarious video I've seen this year. Beginning to think I might need to recommend an Etsified Formal Friday? The bunch over at ban.do are hopelessly adorable...right along with their stellar line of hair accessories. Can't help but fall in love with their black label collection modeled by the haunting redhead, Alison Sudol.

Stop Motion film: Alison Sudol, Angela Kohler, Ithyle Griffiths

If you haven't heard, Etsy has just launched two new international blogs in Germany and France. A UK series was also newly introduced on Etsy's main blog. In honor of these international debuts, Etsy's been promoting Euro Week over the past several days.

Included among the features was Lost Things, a great little stop motion film written & directed by Angela Kohler and Ithyle Griffiths. It grabbed me because I'm already a fan of Alison Sudol's music, the fact Angela Kohler has an Etsy shop, and she used other Etsy artists in the film. You might recognize the similar stop motion work this team has put together for an Amazon commercial.

Hope you enjoy this little 2 minute break as much as I did.
