Urban Outfitters: DIY section

Under Urban Outfitter's Apartment category, they have recently added a DIY subsection. It seems they, along with other larger corporations, are realizing and taking advantage of the resurgence of do-it-yourselfers who are also modern consumers.

I have to admit the following creative products in their apartment section definitely made me look twice. Who knows, maybe the creative types that are buying these types of crafting equipment items from UO, will be listing their creative genius on Etsy. I'll be keeping my eye on this section for future listings and possible markdowns!

Clever camera strap

I'm thinking about snagging one of these clever camera straps made from seat belts. These handmade camera straps come straight from the benches of wreck yard automobiles and I love the idea of an eco friendly option. I love the color descriptions from the site: Porsche Purple, Mercedes Gold, T-bird Teal, and Dodge Silver.

I think I'm gravitating towards the turquoise in this photo, but feel like one of the other more neutral colors would be a better choice...like the gray or maroon. Lemme know what you think in the comments if I should go one way or another.

Spring Fever

One of the spring catalogs from Anthropologie found it's way into my hands...here's a couple pieces that made me swoon:

I think I can honestly say I love this store. I feel at home when I'm there and like they knew what I was looking for before I knew I was looking for it.

New work!

I quite fancy the simple brass circle, and the new elongated hooks I found for the typewriter earrings. All new pieces will be in the shop this week if you'd like to see more photos or take a little shopping break.

All the same mistakes video

I was excited to see the new music video by musician Mieka Pauley is complete and up on YouTube. I met Mieka through my roomie and have been following her music since moving to Brooklyn. She recently won Cosmo Magazine's star launch contest and has been full steam ahead since. She's one of those musicians who is even more powerful live than captured in recording so I'd definitely recommend catching a show if she comes to your area.
